The short answerGet your Google review link from your Business Profile, set your field service software or review tool to text it to every customer when a job is marked complete, and use AI to help draft replies to each review. Ask everyone, not just happy customers. Don't offer incentives for reviews and don't filter out unhappy customers. Google's policies and the FTC's 2024 review rule both restrict those practices.

FAQ

Can I give a discount for a review?

Google's policies prohibit offering incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule bans buying reviews conditioned on being positive or negative. Don't offer incentives.

Can I send unhappy customers to a private feedback form instead?

Filtering who gets asked based on sentiment ('review gating') conflicts with Google's policy and can raise FTC issues around review suppression. Ask everyone the same way. You can still call unhappy customers to fix the problem.

Can AI write reviews for customers?

No. Fake or AI-generated reviews that don't reflect a real customer's experience are banned under the FTC rule. Use AI only to draft your replies.
