Step 1: Set a photo rule for techs
Use one simple rule: “On any job that’s bigger than routine or looks impressive, take one before and one after from the same angle.” Keep faces, addresses, and plates out of frame.
Step 2: Create one shared folder
Use a shared Google Drive or iCloud folder, or the photo attachments in your field service software. Name files like 2026-10-14_water-heater_after.jpg so they’re easy to find.
Step 3: Batch-caption with AI weekly
Upload 3 to 5 photos and paste:
You write social posts for [Company], a [trade] contractor in [city/region].
For each photo, write:
1) A Google Business Profile update (under 750 characters, plain, helpful, ends with "Call [phone] or book at [URL]")
2) A Facebook/Instagram caption (under 60 words, friendly, 2-3 relevant hashtags)
Facts per photo: [e.g., "Photo 1-2: replaced 40-gal water heater, old one leaking at base, installed expansion tank, same-day"]
Only use the facts I give. No prices, no customer names, no exact addresses.
Step 4: Post to Google Business Profile
In your Business Profile, add an update with the photo and the caption. Google’s help page covers post types and content rules.
Step 5: Schedule social posts
Meta Business Suite can schedule Facebook and Instagram posts for free. Spread them across the week.
Step 6: Check what gets engagement
Once a month, see which posts got calls, messages, or engagement. Usually before-and-after shots and “here’s what we found” posts do best, but go by your own results.

FAQ
Do I need customer permission to post photos?
Get it, and add a line in your service agreement or ask at the job. Avoid house numbers, license plates, faces, and anything identifying unless the customer agreed.
Can AI generate fake 'job' images?
Don't present AI-generated images as your real work. That's misleading advertising. Use real photos.
Does posting on Google Business Profile help?
Google lets businesses publish updates and photos on their profile. It keeps the profile current for people who find you. Google doesn't publish a ranking formula, so treat any claimed ranking boost with caution.
